The Courtyard Spring Cleanup
On Friday, April 23, students from Brookdale got into the Spring Spirit and donated times, energy, some top soil and plants to get our Center Courtyard ready for the summer! After a brutal winter it was great to see this energy pulling out the weeds, digging up the flower beds, and helping all to dream of the warm summer days enjoying this beautiful spot. The students prepared a section for our Community Garden where residents, under the supervision of our cook Karen, will plant tomatoes, peppers and other vegetables that will make their way into some delicious meals. Karen's garden crew will also continue their cooking lessons with special emphasis on using the crop that comes from this community garden.
